Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Truelet Innovations (“Truelet Innovations”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use SalonX, our salon queue and booking platform.
SalonX is used by customers (people who join queues and book salon visits) and by salons (shops and their owners, managers, and staff). Customers and salons are third parties to each other; we process data to operate the platform that connects them. By using SalonX, you acknowledge this Policy. Related rules appear in our Terms and Conditions.
1. Who we are
SalonX is operated by Truelet Innovations. For privacy questions or requests:
- Email: support@truelet.com
- Phone: +91 78520 48211
- Web: truelet.com
2. Whose data we process
- Customers — account holders, family or guest profiles they manage, and visitors interacting with salons via SalonX.
- Salons — shop owners, registered staff (barbers / stylists), and business contact details associated with a shop listing.
- Website visitors — people who browse our landing pages or contact us without an account.
3. Information we collect
3.1 Information you provide
- Account details — name, mobile number, gender (if provided), profile photo, PIN or authentication preferences, and role (customer, salon owner, or staff).
- Salon business details — shop name, address, location coordinates, cover images, media, shop type, services, prices, staff roster, and queue settings (such as grace period and padding).
- Queue and appointment data — selected stylist, services, wait estimates, queue position, appointment status, guest or family member names linked to a booking, and related timestamps.
- Communications — messages you send to support@truelet.com or other Truelet Innovations channels.
3.2 Information collected automatically
- Device and app data (device type, OS, app version), log data, and approximate or precise location when you allow location access to find nearby salons.
- Usage events needed to run queues, refreshes, and notifications (for example when you open the waitlist or change staff online status).
- Cookies or similar technologies on web surfaces, where used for session, security, or basic analytics.
3.3 Information from customers and salons about each other
When a customer joins a salon’s queue, that salon can see relevant booking details (such as customer or guest name, selected services, and queue status). When a salon publishes a listing, customers can see shop profile information, services, staff availability, and wait estimates. That sharing is required for SalonX to work.
4. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve SalonX features for customers and salons (accounts, discovery, queues, appointments, history, notifications).
- Authenticate users (including OTP and PIN flows) and protect against fraud or abuse.
- Calculate and display wait times, stylist availability, and shop listings.
- Send transactional alerts (queue updates, reminders, security codes).
- Provide customer support and respond to complaints or requests.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
- Analyze aggregated or de-identified trends to improve the product (for example popular service types or peak queue hours).
We do not sell personal information. We do not use customer or salon data to train public AI models in a way that identifies individuals, unless we obtain a clear separate consent for a future feature.
5. Legal bases (where applicable)
Depending on applicable law (including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, where it applies), we process data based on consent, performance of a contract (providing SalonX), legitimate uses permitted by law, and compliance with legal duties. You may withdraw consent where processing is consent-based, without affecting earlier lawful processing. Withdrawing consent or deleting required account data may prevent continued use of SalonX.
6. How we share information
We may share information with:
- Salons — when a customer joins their queue or books with them, as needed to deliver the service.
- Customers — salon listing and queue information needed to choose a shop and track wait time.
- Service providers — hosting, SMS / OTP gateways, push notification providers, analytics, and payment processors that support SalonX under confidentiality obligations.
- Authorities — when required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to appropriate safeguards.
Customers and salons remain responsible for how they use information they obtain through SalonX outside our platform, subject to law and our Terms.
7. Location data
If you grant location permission, we use it to show nearby salons and distances. You can deny or revoke location access in device settings; some discovery features may then be limited or use a manual search / directory mode instead.
8. Push notifications and messaging
We may send push notifications, SMS, or in-app messages for OTPs, queue status, appointment reminders, and important account notices. You can control push permissions in device settings. Transactional messages required for security or active bookings may still be sent where necessary.
9. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide SalonX, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal, tax, or accounting requirements. Appointment and queue history may be kept for operational and compliance periods after completion or cancellation. When data is no longer required, we delete or anonymize it where feasible.
10. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information (such as access controls, encrypted transport where appropriate, and restricted staff access). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please protect your devices and credentials.
11. Children
SalonX is not directed at children under 13 (or a higher age if required in your region). Parents or guardians who add family members for salon visits should only provide information they are authorized to share. Contact us if you believe we have collected a child’s data inappropriately.
12. Your rights and choices
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, updating, or deletion of your personal information, or withdraw consent where applicable. Customers and salon users can often update profile and shop details directly in SalonX. You can also use our in-app account deletion flow or the instructions at Account Deletion. For other requests, email support@truelet.com. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. Some data must be retained for legal or legitimate operational reasons.
13. International processing
SalonX is operated primarily for users in India. Data may be stored or processed on servers or by vendors in India or other countries. Where required, we take steps intended to protect information in line with applicable law.
14. Third-party links and salon practices
SalonX may link to third-party sites (including truelet.com). Their privacy practices are their own. Salons may also collect information in person that never passes through SalonX; that collection is governed by the salon’s own policies, not this Policy.
15. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and change the “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated in-app or by other reasonable means. Continued use of SalonX after an update means you acknowledge the revised Policy.
